Our award winning Pinyin Chart is back!
Join over 500,000 students and perfect your Chinese pronunciation with the most popular Pinyin Chart on the app store!
Top 50 World Excellence App Competition at Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC).
After a year of work from our development team, were proud to release the new version of Pinyin Chart! Great new features include all possible combinations of sounds and tones in the Chinese language, as well as many themes to excite your learning. Clearly spoken by native speakers, to demonstrate the different tones, this app is essential to all Chinese learners.
You will also find the most comprehensive guide to teach you pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese. Over 60 pages are devoted exclusively to help students of any level to achieve an authentic accent and accurate tones, including exercises, detailed descriptions, and a variety of methods to ensure the concepts are clearly conveyed. Designed by a professional teacher from the United States, this is a unique approach to learning an accent, at the heart of which is the belief that new information is best learned and recalled when it is associated with older, familiar information. Using instances in spoken English that closely resemble target sounds in Chinese (they do exist!), a series of simple steps is provided to go from one language to the other. Even the tones are made simple and clear through this approach. Be aware that this is not a comprehensive text on Mandarin. There is no grammar or vocabulary, no cultural backgrounds or dialog. Just pronunciation. This guide is suitable for any level of proficiency, and will benefit anyone looking to sound more like a native speaker.

Pros and cons of Pinyin Chart - Learn Chinese app for iPhone and iPad
Pinyin Chart - Learn Chinese app good for
Thanks a lot for this free applic. It helps me for pronunciating chinese words
It is a nice interactive table to learn pinyin fonétic correspondance
A simple but helpfull App. Especially the possibility to listen to the same syllable in different tones is very useful.
Gives all possible pronunciations in a chart and has a female native speaker whichever tone you need.
PS. Would be nice with a search function. Eg. I search up [you] and then chart for [you] comes up rather than going to the corresponding match of y + ou
Pronunciation sounds exactly the same as what I have been learning in a Mandarin course.
This is just what I was looking for!. Just starting with classes, this gives an overall overview of all tones to practice.
Some bad moments
I have purchased the app over a month and contacted app store as well as apps tech support many times. So far no respond!! I cant use it its still in demo version and most of the info is blocked
This app was good until sometime in 2016 when the frequency of the ads increased and became so intrusive that learning isnt possible anymore. The price for the PRO version is priced far too high for a simple utility. If this app is the gateway for customers to explore the developers other software, I believe they are hindering their sales by this strategy. I have given up on this app in its new advertisement-bloated form. It was good for many years.
Every 20 to 30 seconds theres an ad that pops up. The App Store shows you can buy the ad removal for $.99, but inside the app you can only purchase the VIP package for $9.99. The VIP package is another app that supposed to teach you pronunciation for Chinese words but I downloaded the free trial it doesnt do anything.
I upgraded to a new device and purchases were not automatically restored. There are no settings for this app so the purchase and restore options are hidden behind a tiny remove ads button. This takes you to a page to purchase themes of some sort. The restore purchase button is there but you cant scroll to it and tap before it springs off screen. While doing all of this you are still subject to full screen ads every 30 seconds which makes using the app pointless.
This Chinese app is very helpful for beginners and I am one of them. For different languages I always need help so I dont have to look up each word on the internet.
I find this app very helpful, however, I find that some of the sounds will not work... Such as the ( ue) sound, in which none of them work.. Please improve this... Xiexie
